Christmas is coming to Little Bird Markets

Little Bird Made will be bringing some festive spirit to Harrogate and Driffield this weekend with their outdoor artisan markets. There will be everything you need for the holidays and what better way to spend your day than shopping in the outdoors at a traditional Christmas market and supporting local small businesses?

This will be the first of 2-weekend markets in Harrogate Valley Gardens as part of the town's Destination Christmas celebrations in partnership with Visit Harrogate. There will be over 70 traders setting up in the Sun Colonnade on both Saturday and Sunday, alongside our food vendors to keep you fuelled up for a day of activities. There will be lots of traditional gifts and decorations for the festive season alongside, local produce, organic skin and body care, homeware and fragrance, children’s clothing & toys, local pieces of art, wood & leather work and unique crafts that will make a unique gift for someone special. There will be lots for all ages and tastes, so bring the family or some friends and enjoy a festive hot chocolate or mulled wine as you walk around the stalls.

Julian Norton the well known face from The Yorkshire Vet will be coming along on Sunday for a book signing session at 11am. Julian has written several novels for adults including, Horses, Heifers and Hairy Pigs; The Life of a Yorkshire vet and All Creatures: Heart-warming Tales from a Yorkshire Vet. He has now added a collection of wintery and heart-warming animal tales for children to his collection called, Adventures of a Yorkshire Vet: Lambing Tales and Other Animal Tales. Come along on Sunday, meet Julian and purchase a signed copy of his books, what better present for an animal-loving person this year?

Within the town of Harrogate there will be the Christmas Fayre on Cambridge Street, Christmas rides and attractions including a giant Ferris Wheel and Ice Rink in Crescent Gardens and not forgetting the famous Candy Cane Express, which will be running between venues throughout the town centre for people to hop on and off and visit each location. On Sunday there will be double opportunities to visit a Little Bird market as they will also be visiting Driffield as part of their Christmas programme. There will be the same mix of stalls along with a visit from Father Christmas, Grotto, snow machine and free parking. Traders will have on offer everything you need to finish your Christmas shopping or stock up your cupboards with lots of local produce, alcohol and treats. Don’t worry if you can’t wait till the holidays to enjoy them, you can always visit one of our other markets throughout December to buy some more.
