York-based professional organiser Cher Casey is hosting a live workshop “The Art of Decluttering” on Wednesday 13th May from 7-9pm at Impossible York in City Centre.

Clearing clutter can have a significant impact on our mental health and our overall well-being. Yet, knowing how to tackle home projects can feel daunting and overwhelming. This uplifting and practical event is designed to help people take action, navigate roadblocks, and refresh their homes with clarity, confidence, and momentum this spring.

Spring is also the season of renewal and it is an ideal time to clear out clutter.  As days get longer and our energy returns, many people feel the seasonal urge to refresh their homes. Attendees will learn practical strategies to declutter, organise, and create a home that supports them.

During the workshop, Cher will explore:

  • How clutter impacts mental health, well-being, and daily stress

  • How to start and complete decluttering projects of all sizes

  • Practical strategies to avoid burnout and unfinished piles

  • Sustainable decluttering practices to reduce waste

  • Where to donate, recycle and responsibly rehome items in and around York

In tandem with Mental Health Awareness Week, the workshop explores the varied cost of clutter together with practical tips for minimising overwhelm and find personalised ways to clear clutter.
