Is it just us, or does everything taste better when you’re sat outside? Maybe it’s the sunshine, maybe it’s the excuse for a cheeky glass of something cold before noon, or perhaps it’s simply that everything feels a bit more relaxed with a breeze on your face and birdsong in the background.

Either way, in July's Edition we’re kicking things off with a bit of outdoor eating inspiration - perfect for picnics, BBQs, garden gatherings or even just a quick sandwich on the step between Zoom calls.

And since we’re spending more time outdoors, we’ve put together a few ideas for those corners of your home or garden you keep meaning to “do something” with. You know the ones - the slightly awkward spaces that are currently home to a lonely plant pot, a tangle of garden tools, or a chair no one sits in.

If, like us, your motivation’s been having a little holiday of its own lately, never fear. We’ve also been on the hunt for ways to give it a gentle prod - so you can get back to ticking off those summer projects (or at least feel better about not ticking them off just yet).

In our Local section this month, we’re tackling the very important question: does herringbone make a room look bigger or smaller? A small thing, perhaps - but one that could have quite the effect if you’re planning any decorating this summer. The answer may just surprise you.
And of course, there’s plenty more inside. You’ll find small business hints and tips to keep the ideas flowing, a lovely mix of local finds, and lots of little sparks of inspiration to brighten up your July.
Happy reading!
