You’ll notice a few changes around here.

Handpicked Local is entering an exciting new chapter over the coming weeks, and we’re starting with our eMagazine.

It’s a new name, but more importantly, it gives us more room to grow. You’ve told us you’d love to see more places, more businesses, more ideas and more of what Yorkshire has to offer, so we listened.

By widening our focus, Handpicked Yorkshire will allow us to bring you even more brilliant independents, interesting people, local discoveries, seasonal inspiration and useful features from across the county, while still keeping that carefully curated, local feel at the heart of everything we do.

Think of it as the same Handpicked approach, just with a little more Yorkshire to explore.

And what better way to introduce the new name than with our September edition?

September always feels like a little reset. Summer is still hanging on, but routines are returning, the evenings are beginning to draw in and autumn is quietly making itself known. There’s something quite comforting about that change of pace, when things feel a little calmer and attention starts to turn towards the season ahead.

This month’s eMagazine brings together seasonal inspiration, useful advice, thoughtful features and some brilliant local businesses. It’s designed to be dipped into at your own pace, whether you’re looking for ideas for the home and garden, something new to think about, or simply an interesting read.

Introducing Handpicked Yorkshire

Inside this month’s issue...

We’re looking at ways to ease into autumn without rushing summer out of the door, from keeping herbs growing indoors as the days get shorter and giving the garden some timely attention, to introducing richer, moodier colours at home without everything suddenly turning orange.

We’re also exploring a few of the topics that seem to be cropping up everywhere right now. Is mouth taping genuinely useful, or just another wellness trend to treat with caution? Are we becoming too focused on protein? And as the weather begins to change, how do our coffee habits shift with the seasons?

Elsewhere, you’ll find plenty of practical tips, fresh ideas and local finds to explore.

We hope there’s something in these pages that makes you stop, read on and perhaps discover something new.

And keep an eye out over the coming weeks. This is just the beginning of a few exciting changes at Handpicked.
