With Furnell Residential
An annual charity golf day is on course to raise plenty of money for St Gemma’s Hospice in Leeds.
Over 20 teams are set to tee off at the event at Moor Allerton Golf Club on Friday, September 23rd which has been generously sponsored by Bardsey based estate agent Furnell Residential.
The golf day, now in its seventh year, is held in memory of Ged Sugden, a former landlord of the Bingley Arms public house in Bardsey.
Event Organiser Matthew Brighton said: “The day is a fitting way to remember Ged, while at the same time raising much needed funds for St Gemma’s. I want to thank Furnell Residential for their kind sponsorship and all those who are taking part. May the best team win! ”
Ben Furnell, managing director of Furnell Residential, commented: “The wonderful St Gemma’s Hospice is our chosen charity to whom we make a donation for every house we sell. When Matthew approached us about the golf day we were more than happy to offer our support”.
Following the conclusion of the golf, players will head to the Bingley Arms for a bar-b-cue, live music and further fundraising in the form of a raffle and auction.
Stephanie Jackson, a community fundraiser at St Gemma’s, added: “We are indebted to Matthew, Ben and everyone else involved in the day. All the money raised will go towards the provision of specialist end of life care for our patients and their families.”
Established in 2018, Furnell Residential is a family owned estate agency covering North Leeds, Wetherby, York, Harrogate and surrounding areas.
