Fun-filled adventures as Raworths Family Literature Festival returns to Harrogate
The hugely popular Raworths Family Literature Festival makes a welcome return to Harrogate this autumn with a fun-packed day full of exciting stories and workshops.
This year’s Festival – part of Raworths Harrogate Literature Festival – takes place at The Crown Hotel, Harrogate, on 24 October with a whole host of special guests and family adventures.
Award-winning writer Joseph Coelho leads an inspiring and interactive celebration of poetry to fire children’s imaginations. The former Children’s Laureate will explain where ideas come from, share poems and show how they can help us make sense of the world around us. (Suitable for ages 6+).
Joining him at the Festival is multi award-winning author and illustrator Rob Biddulph, the creative star behind the phenomenal #DrawWithRob videos. Rob will bring his stories to life with children also learning how to draw one of his amazing illustrations.
Author Bethany Walker brings a dose of Greek mythology with Medusa Gorgon’s Deadly Side Eye, the second book in her brilliantly funny, diary-based series. (Suitable for ages 8+).

Author and naturalist Kevin Parr will lead a magical woodland adventure for children in Harrogate’s Pinewoods, using stories and the seasons to bring the secrets of the forest to life. (Suitable for ages 5+).
Writer Fleur Hitchcock invites youngsters to become young detectives and join the Malory Towers Mystery Club to unravel secret disappearances, midnight mischief and help solve perilous puzzles. (Suitable for ages 8+).
