Volunteer at our events - You can help us make a real difference.
Our events are a huge part of how we help the families that need us. The events team are looking for passionate individuals or groups to help them in a variety of ways at all kinds of events!
How do events help our families?
We have a jam-packed events calendar throughout the year, ranging from challenge events, to running events, team events and our show stopping Glitter Ball.
Together our events across the year help to raise over £500,000 which has a massive impact on the families that need our support. For every event we hold we are able to inform our supporters of the work we do while increasing the amount we raise to help and you could be a part of that!
What it’s like to volunteer at our events
‘All the events offer a chance to meet members of the fundraising team (who are always very helpful and sociable) and the events offer different experiences, including keeping an eye out for Martin House t-shirts during marathons to cheer on the runners, serving food to golfers or standing on top of the Cow and Calf watching and encouraging other people mad enough to abseil and zip wire off the rocks. It’s always good to see how far people are prepared to go to help raise funds for the hospice,’ — Events Volunteer, Judith.
What you can get involved in
Working alongside the events team, you can do numerous things to help make our events happen!
pre-event promotion
encourage participants during events
selling raffle tickets
selling programmes
assisting with registration (our events only)
helping with car parking
assisting with pre-event set up and/or post-event clearance
collecting donations
sourcing prizes
